The Ministry of Finance has dismissed claims that freight forwarders were not consulted before the rollout of the new AI-powered customs system.

Victor Kofi Baidoo, Head of Revenue, Assurance, and Compliance Enforcement, explained that stakeholder engagements took place and acknowledged early delays. He assured that backlogs are being cleared and efficiency at ports is improving.
