A sharp diplomatic confrontation is unfolding between Türkiye and Israel, with rhetoric escalating into personal attacks and legal threats amid an already volatile regional conflict. The dispute intensified after Recep Tayyip Erdogan faced criticism from Israeli leadership, prompting a strong response from Ankara. In a sharply worded statement, Turkish officials accused Israel of making “arrogant and false” allegations, before escalating further by describing Benjamin Netanyahu as the “Hitler of the era.” Türkiye has also pointed to mounting international legal pressure on Israel, referencing proceedings at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice related to alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. Israel, in turn, pushed back aggressively. Netanyahu accused Erdogan of harboring terrorists, while Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz dismissed him as a “paper tiger,” deepening the war of words.
