The energy situation in Europe is getting more uncomfortable by the day given what is happening with the Strait of Hormuz among other factors. The energy prices are currently high, but officials warn that if the situation continues, supply will also be a problem. Brussels is considering options for “Dealing” with Hungary in the event Viktor Orban wins the Hungarian elections on the 12th of April. Some of the options are less “dramatic” than others, but it has been mentioned that the EU is considering changing the way it votes, withholding cash and even suspending voting rights. Zelensky has stated that the only way Donald Trump knows how to stop Vladimir Putin is by pressuring Ukraine to withdraw from Donbas and he also stressed that the latest round of talks between US and Ukraine have yielded no results. These statements come at a time when there are existing tensions between US and Ukraine. The situation in Ukraine regarding the Druzhba pipeline remains unchanged, as the EU inspection group that was supposed to verify the damage has still not yet received permission from the Ukrainian government to do so.
