Did Donald Trump just mix up two wars on the global stage?

During a press event for the Artemis II crew, Trump was asked a straightforward question: which conflict would end first, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine or the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.

His answer quickly spiralled.

“I think Ukraine, militarily, they’re defeated,” Trump said, before launching into claims of massive losses, including “159 ships” underwater and most aircraft, missiles and drones destroyed.

The problem? The details didn’t line up.

As he spoke, Trump appeared to blur key facts between Ukraine and Iran, struggling to clearly separate the two conflicts.
