The government has engaged Petronas and other oil firms to ensure Malaysia’s fuel supply is enough for about a month, allowing current subsidies to continue.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said fuel pricing must be handled carefully, stressing that people should be the last to bear rising costs.

The subsidised RON95 petrol price remains at RM1.99 per litre, with the monthly quota reduced to 200 litres from 300 litres starting April 1.

The government is also extending medium- and long-term measures to safeguard public interest amid global uncertainties.

Anwar urged all parties to set aside politics and support policies aimed at easing economic pressures.
