President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to develop a 1,200-megawatt gas-fired power plant to strengthen Ghana’s electricity generation capacity.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Koforidua during the “Resetting Ghana Tour,” he said the project, developed by John Abdulai Jinapor and the Finance Ministry, will help build power reserves and position Ghana to export electricity to neighbouring countries, generating foreign exchange to support national development.
