Matthew read History at Downing College before completing postgraduate studies, training and qualifying as a commercial solicitor at global law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright. During his training contract, Matthew spent time in London, Dubai and Melbourne.

In 2018-2019, he was seconded to HM Treasury as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Financial Services, EU Strategy team working on the Future Economic Partnership between the UK and the EU, for financial services.

Now a partner, Matthew specialises in financial services regulation, advising domestic and overseas banks, investment firms and wealth managers on UK financial services law and regulation.
