National Treasury has withheld part of iMpendle Municipality’s July equitable share, placing the rural KwaZulu-Natal municipality among 69 across the country facing sanctions over financial management failures. The decision comes just weeks after iMpendle was placed under provincial administration over governance and financial challenges.
