Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had an unusual journey to Jaipur recently, travelling by Vande Bharat train from New Delhi to attend the BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meetings.

During the journey, Sitharaman interacted with fellow passengers and held a freewheeling discussion with four young media professionals, including two postgraduate media students. The conversation covered geopolitics, the economy and issues concerning young people, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Sitharaman was in Jaipur for the BRICS FMCBG meetings, where finance ministers and central bank governors from member countries are expected to discuss key issues concerning the global and domestic economic landscape.
