Trump just created a 1.8 billion dollar fund, drawn directly from the U.S. Treasury, to pay January 6th rioters. He sued the government, then settled the case with himself, and now controls who gets paid. Even Republicans on Capitol Hill are calling it a slush fund. Pardoned insurrectionists, including child sex offenders, could be eligible to collect. Two police officers beaten on January 6th have already filed suit to stop it. For decades, America was told reparations for the descendants of enslaved people were too expensive. Yet somehow, 1.8 billion dollars was found overnight, not for them, but for the people who attacked our democracy.
