On Thursday, Vice President JD Vance said former President Richard Nixon and President Donald Trump were similarly targeted by “the deep state.” At an event promoting his new book “Communion,” Vance also said the Watergate scandal would be just “a 12-hour news story if it happened now.” Joe slams Vance’s remarks, pointing to the ways in which Nixon weaponized the government: “Richard Nixon used the deep state to go after political enemies,” he says.
